In 1993, Jacques co-founded Filmmakers Alliance, and as President, has overseen the production of hundreds of films and developed a wide range of innovative and impactful filmmaking support programs.
In 2004, Jacques and his partner Liam Finn struck a deal with production financing entity Bigfoot Entertainment to produce 2-4 independent feature films per year under the banner FA Productions, of which he and Liam are Co-Presidents. In 2005, he was named Chief Community Officer of the festival submission/filmmaker support site, Withoutabox.com.
His writer-director filmography includes the feature film The Dogwalker (Los Angeles Film Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival, Best First Feature - Cinequest Film Festival), as well as the shorts Infidelity (in equal parts) (Sundance Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival), Egg (Mill Valley Film Festival, Best Comedy Short - Cinequest Film Festival, Jury Award for Best Short - Methodfest) and Love Without Socks (AFI International Film Festival).
His latest short, Transaction played at numerous festivals including the Sundance Film Festival, and won the prestigious Grand Prix du Jury Award in the Labo Competition at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. In September, he begins production on his new feature film, Rust, and recently finished the script for Red White And Blue as one of ten filmmakers involved in the feature-length omnibus project.
Jacques was also on the board of directors for The Los Angeles Independent Film Festival (now the FIND Los Angeles Film Festival), helping organize that prestigious festival, and executive producing the 1998 Seminar series. He currently sits on the board of the Silver Lake Film Festival, the Santa Monica Film Festival and Very Short Films International Short Film Festival.
As the Vice President, Emeritus of Filmmakers Alliance, the Los Angeles based filmmaker collective, Liam Finn has managed the production affairs of over 400 filmmakers. He is also the co-president of FA Productions which released it's first feature film, The Dogwalker in theaters in 2006. The Company is currently in Post Production on Within, a psychological thriller and Midnight Movie, a horror movie.
In addition to producing feature films, Finn is currently on the cutting edge of distribution for independent filmmakers by establishing NeoFlix, a company dedicated to helping filmmakers circumvent the traditional distribution paradigm. Finn has also produced a variety of projects including short films, studio electronic press kits, commercials, filmmaker events, film seminars, new media content, mobile content and Digidance, an all-digital film festival in Park City, Utah.
In 1997, Finn began working with Producer Jeffery Silver of Outlaw Productions, helping to fulfill the companies¹ slate of Warner Bros. feature films: Dennis the Menace Strikes Again, Three to Tango, Ready to Rumble, Gossip and Training Day on which he was a creative consultant.
In 1993, Finn worked at Warner Bros. Studios as a management trainee in the Feature Production Department, which oversaw the logistics of making studio movies. He was later promoted to work with the head of World Wide Feature Production for the entire studio, the liaison office between studio executives and movie producers.
